Myanmar Avocado Producer and Exporter Association (MAVO)

MAVO represents avocado industry in Myanmar. It is a registered non-profit corporation and sector industry association under Myanmar Company Act formed in 2016 at Shan State.

MAVO is part of the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producer and Exporter Association (MFVP). It is also a member of the World Avocado Association and California Avocado Association of the United States. MAVO is well integrated with the international avocado network.

MAVO supports smallholder farmers to increase the yield and quality of avocados and simultaneously establish market linkages with domestic and international buyers, aggregate production and manage partnerships. This enables integration of our farmers into the supply chain with reduced risks, guaranteed buyers and improved income.

The works of MAVO play an important role for Myanmar’s economic development and deliver tangible results with deep poverty reduction impact for farmers. Smallholder agriculture also has a potential to reduce the drivers of conflict.
